Matyáš Boháček is a student researcher at Stanford University, advised by Professor Hany Farid. His research focuses on problems at the intersection of AI and digital forensics. His recent work investigates the effects of AI models re-ingesting their creations and methods for determining if a specific data point, such as an image, was used to train an AI model. He also developed a detector of deepfakes for President Zelenskyy of Ukraine and created a deepfake CNN news anchor, which opened a primetime news show spreading awareness of AI threats. In the past, he worked on AI for accessibility, developing a state-of-the-art sign language translator from video. He also co-founded Verifee, an AI-based app for disinformation detection in Central and Eastern Europe, backed by Google. He is a member of the Forbes 30 under 30 list in Czechia and a recipient of the Innovator of the Year in Czechia. His work has been featured in Science and the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, among others.
