Jan Lukačevič works at the Prague Innovation Institute, where he is responsible for space activities innovations and development. Since 2017, he has held various positions at the Czech Academy of Sciences and founded the Marsonaut laboratory, a project for growing plants in Mars-like conditions. He served as a NATO2030 Young Leader - Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg's external advisory board member, where he led a working group focused on innovation and disruptive technologies. He is one of the most successful science communicators on social media in the Czech Republic.
He was one of the Neuron Founders of the former Neuron Endowment Fund and co-founded the Žárovky Endowment Fund to support and engage gifted young experts in public affairs. For his earlier research under the European Space Agency, he was selected by Google and the Financial Times for the New Europe 100: a list of 100 people from Central and Eastern Europe with the greatest influence on our future. He is also fond of industrial and product design: since 2017 he has been consulting and teaching Physics of Design at AAAD in Prague and serves as a member of the UMlab Council.
